ANGLER AND FISH COUNTS LOWER IN VACATION AREA

Dec. 12-18, 2004, Tadeo Hernandez, Flota Bibi Fleet, Mazatlan, Mexico Fishing Report:

This week the fishing catch at Mazatlan has decreased a lot, and the business too. It is common in the two weeks prior to Christmas. For seven Mazatlan charter fishing trips, we caught: 1 Sailfish, 3 dorados, and 1 Skipjack Tuna. Probably this week we will see the striped marlin bite get better. The current Mazatlan weather conditions are: 77 degrees, 78 percent Humidity and 4 m.p.h. winds. Water temperature 77 degrees. The average air temperatures this week were 87/60 degrees.

Nov. 28-Dec. 11, 2004, Tadeo Hernandez, Flota Bibi Fleet, Mazatlan Fishing Report:

We had 20 deep sea Mazatlan vacation fishing trips that had outstanding catches of yellowfin tuna, specially from Nov. 29 to Dec. 7. The usual size was football size, 10-20 pounds. The most caught on one trip during the period was 19 on Nov. 4. Total catch: 1 Striped Marlin, 2 Sailfish, 3 Dorados, 78 Yellowfin Tuna, 12 Skipjack Tuna.

Also, a couple of Mazatlan panga fishing trips caught good amounts of, Red Snappers, Crevalle Jacks, Green Chilis and other fish like triggerfish, Pufferfish and others.

Nov. 14-27, 2004, Tadeo Hernandez, Flota Bibi Fleet, Mazatlan Fishing Report:

This period of fishing at Mazatlan had great catches of Dorado and also a couple of Wahoos. We also had a single Yellowfin Tuna, which was the first of a great 10-day period of hundreds of Yellowfin Tunas near the Mazatlan shore, 20 miles out.

For 35 Mazatlan charter fishing trips, Flota Bibi Fleet caught: 7 Sailfish, with the heaviest being 77 pounds, and 8 feet 0 inches long; 132 Dorado, with the heaviest being 31 pounds, and 4 feet 9 inches long; 13 Skipjack Tuna; 2 Wahoo to 60 pounds; 1 Yellowfin Tuna; and 5 Shortfin Mako Shark.
