SNOOK CAUGHT IN MANGROVE CHANNELS

Dec. 17, 2005, Gary Graham, Baja On The Fly, Magdalena Bay, Mexico Fishing Report:

Offshore of Magdalena Bay, most of the warm fishing water has been pushed down below Punta Tosca, down around the Finger Bank off the Baja coast, which is just far enough away from anywhere to be considered no man’s land for most boats. Still reports of very large yellowfin tuna and plenty of bait balls to keep the marlin fishing interesting.

Fishing action in the Magdalena Bay esteros continues to produce snook, palometa amarilla and a few sierra, and corvina as well.

Be sure to read Bob Vanian’s report about his recent trip to Magdalena Bay with Bob Woodward, both from San Diego, at 976bite.com several weeks ago.

Magdalena Bay water temperature 68-75; Air temperature 68-73; Wind: NW 7 mph; Scattered Clouds.
