LIMITS FOR YELLOWFIN TUNA OUT OF PUERTO LOPEZ MATEOS

Nov. 18, 2005, Bill Erhardt, Puerto Lopez Mateos, Magdalena Bay, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

Last week I fished two days in the Pacific off Magdalena Bay out of Puerto Lopez Mateos for a marlin each day and also my Mexican fishing limit on yellowfin tuna on one of the days. This week on my only fishing trip to Puerto Lopez Mateos I was foiled by sopping wet early morning fog which disabled my ignition and I did not even get out.

At Puerto Lopez Mateos, I've used a launch spot south of the cannery and east off the channel up the "river" that is not really a river about 3/4 of a mile. That area is not necessarily better than others, but I have been launching there and now know the better spots for getting in and out at high and low tide.
