SNOOK LANDED AT MAGDALENA ISLAND

Sept. 24, 2005, Gary Graham, Baja On The Fly, Magdalena Bay, Baja California Sur, Mexico Fishing Report:

Locals at Magdalena Bay reported marlin, dorado and a few wahoo while fishing near the offshore Thetis Bank, and fishing closer to shore there were plenty of small tuna and dorado.

Along the shore, a few yellowtails and sierra were found under the bird schools.

On a recent Magdalena Island fishing trip, Diana Hoyt, of Mag Bay Outfitters reported that their clients landed several small snook. They were fishing from the rocks just below the lighthouse at Cabo San Lazaro on the Pacific side of the island.

The Magdalena Bay mangrove esteros produced fair to good fishing action for sierra, corvina and a few leopard grouper early in the week.
