BEST FISHING ACTION FOUND AT SAN CARLOS ENTRADA

Jan. 22, 2005, Gary Graham, Baja On The Fly, Magdalena Bay, Mexico Fishing and Whale Watching Report:

Nice weather greeted the large number of folks arriving to get up close and personal with the Magdalena Bay whale watching this week. The best fishing action at Magdalena Bay continued to be out at the San Carlos Entrada.

A few yellowtail and small grouper were caught, and the barracuda were thick. I am not aware of anyone who ventured up into the at Magdalena Bay esteros this week, so there is little to report on that front. Up at Lopez Mateos, the focus is primarily on the whale watching and Magdalena Bay's upcoming annual celebration of the whales, Festival Ballena Gris, will be held Feb. 12. The Magdalena Bay fishing SST water temperature was 69-75 degrees, and the air temperature was 62-69 degrees. Conditions: Scattered Clouds.
