ALMOST NO BOATS FISHED LAST WEEK

Sept. 10, 2004, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico Fishing:

I received a general overall fish report from Abel Cortez, the dockside representative for the fleet, and he reported there was almost no Ixtapa Zihuatanejo boats fishing this past week. However, the few that did go, returned with good fishing results of 1-3 sailfish, but no tuna or dorado.

On the inshore areas, a few roosterfish were being taken in the 30-45 lb. ranges and jack crevalle fishing was just about as good as it gets. He said the town is virtually empty right now and most of the skippers are working on their boats, getting them ready for the next go-round that typically starts about mid-October.

I/Z Climate: Warm & humid, temps ranged from 72 at night to 94 daytime highs, with some late pm scattered showers.

Sea Conditions: Moderate to choppy and rough, with temps from 83-85 degrees

Best Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Fishing Area: None reported

Bait Supply: Good supply with no bait problems at all.
