FISHING TRIP PROVIDES COOLER FULL OF MEXICAN FISH

Sept. 26-27, 2005, Jason Pasto, Erendira, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

Wayne Montez, Gary Lee Harrison, and I returned from Erendira Tuesday with a cooler mostly full of fish, after fishing Sept. 26-27.

Monday was one of the best days fishing we've ever had. The weather was in the mid 70s, the ocean was flat in the morning, and the fish were cooperating. One of us had to sit on the cooler on the way back in (me). We caught quite a few good sized reds, cocos, sea bass, ling cods, white fish, and sculpin.

Tuesday fishing out of Erendira was Victory at Sea as the swells at Erendira were in the 4-5 foot range and the temperature dropped drastically when the drizzle started. We came in around noon with the cooler 1/3 full of the same mixed bag because I was sick and cold. Gary agreed with me that there was little reason left to fish. Wayne stayed back at Coyote Cal's to relax.

We threw more Lings back than we kept due to their size. We used White Iron all of the time on the bottom tipped with squid and noticed that the fish were smaller than the same time last year at Erendira. But we had a terrific trip and caught a great variety of fish.
