FISHING SLOW TO PUNTA COLONET DUE TO RED TIDE PLANKTON CONDITIONS

Aug. 15, 2005, Gustavo Goytia, Erendira, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

We found fishing at Erendira very slow due to red tide, from Erendira to Colonet. All other boats also had a very slow day. We caught a few decent size red rockcod. Take home was 20 fish, only one lingcod, with two other guys, Joe Carengella and Ben Nagamine.

The water temperature was 65 degrees, and we fished 10 to 15 miles from Erendira and just about 2 west miles from the Colonet point. The water looked like it was mixed with powered up brick.
