BIG LINGCOD CAUGHT BY 18 SPORTFISHING BOATS THIS WEEK

April 3, 2005, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Mexico Fishing Report:

This week, Castro's Camp had 18 boats sportfishing at Erendira. We caught many big lingcod this week, also fishing for red rockcod, whitefish, cabrilla, and sheephead. From Monday through Wednesday, we had calm mornings, and afternoon northeast winds of 10 to 12 m.p.h.

On Thursday, Erendira had morning Santa Ana wind for 1 hour, and the rest of the day was very nice. On Friday, the dawn came with Santa Ana winds of 12 m.p.h., and it stopped at noon, and we have had good fishing weather through Sunday. For fishing for lingcod and rockcod, we are using sardinas and squid for bait, and the fishing water temperature is 59 degrees, with a clear blue color, in our fishing area 7 miles from the coast at Erendira.
