CASTRO'S CAMP FISHING BAJA COAST IN SOME WIND AT ERENDIRA

Feb. 20, 2005, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:

This week Castro's Camp had 21 boats fishing, for continued heavy catches of lingcod, big red rockcod, whitefish, and barracuda. On Monday, Erendira has very good fishing weather. On Tuesday, we had a little rain with some wind from the south. Good fishing weather returned on Wednesday through Thursday, and on Friday we had rain until noon. Saturday was good again, today on Sunday we have some clouds but so far without rain, with some light east wind, and ocean swells of 5 feet.

This week we had some groups, including one angler 72 years of age who fished with Castro's Camp the first time and caught a lot of bottom fish. Another large group from Las Vegas caught lots of barracuda one day and lots of bottom fish their second day.

The sea surface water temperature in the fishing area 2 miles from the coast was 60 degrees, and the color of the water is clear blue.
