WINDS FROM NORTHEAST FOR CASTRO'S CAMP FISHING BOATS

Nov. 20, 2004, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Baja California, Mexico:

This week, 15 Castro's Camp had 15 boats fishing. From Monday to Wednesday, we had some afternoon wind from the northeast. Thursday and Friday had very good conditions, and on Saturday we had a very calm sea, but with some clouds. The water was clear blue and 60 degrees, 7 miles from the coast at Castro's Camp. We are seeing lots of bait in the water again, and with them, lots of pelicans and seagulls. This week the fishing was good out of Castro's Camp for lots of red rockcod, bass, and whitefish, and a lot of bonito and barracuda. For bottom fishing, we are using Scampis of different colors, and for the bonito and barracuda on the surface, all types of lures and colors are working. The bonito, barracuda, and yellowtail were caught 3 or 4 miles from the coast at Castro's Camp, and the rockcod 7 miles out.
