KCHTS SPORTFISHING FINDS SLOW ACTION AT THE SAN JOSE REEF

Sept. 25, 2005, Gerardo Sanchez, KCHTS Sportfishing, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:

During the week, the fishing action was slow here in Ensenada. On Thursday, we went on a fishing trip to San Jose reef and it was not too good. It was rough and windy. We got some fish, but not too much. My three passengers got seasick and I returned early to Ensenada.

Fishing on Saturday, we went out on a tuna trip, all the way to the lower 500 spot, and we got 11 yellowtails, medium size, average 10 to 12 pounds. Also, we got 1 skipjack. Other Ensenada boats made it better, with dorados and yellowfin tuna too. We got our yellowtails on a kelp paddy with sardines, and we got the skipjack trolling. The water was somewhat rough, but not too bad, and the water temperatures was 68.
