VONNY'S FLEET CATCHING MOSTLY LOCAL BOTTOM FISH

Sept. 11-17, 2005, Ivan Villarino, Vonny's Fleet, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:

This week our fishing at Ensenada has been a mixed catch.

Fishing on Monday, Brian Foley reserved the Vonny-I with Beto. On his first day, "bingo," he caught a 25-pound yellowtail along with an assortment of bass, rock cod, etc.

On Tuesday, all 3 boats went out fishing, and all caught on average of 20 to 25 rockcod, but no more yellowtail. Towards afternoon it was getting windy but all the boats faired well.

On Wednesday, Beto went out fishing with Brian Foley again, by the way we call him "Calico Brian," and they caught 10 reds, 15 bass, and 6 white fish.

Thursday was a repeat of Wednesday, kind of slow but still a few fish in the box.

On Friday, all the boats went out fishing again, and everybody limited on bottom fish and a few pencil barracuda.

On Saturday the Vonny I and III went out. The Vonny-I caught 30 rockcods and the Vonny-III with Cruz Zamora caught 42 reds.
