GERARDO SANCHEZ BOAT FINDS 2 ALBACORE IN FISHING OFF ENSENADA

July 16, 2005, Gerardo Sanchez, KCHTS Sportfishing, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:

Last Sunday on a tuna fishing trip out of Ensenada with 5 passengers, we got 2 albacore close to the 238 spot. The weather was rough, windy, and cloudy and cold, but at least we caught a pair, average 30 pounds.

On Monday, we went fishing at the San Jose reef. It was very good on bottom fish, with 5 passengers, and full limits on reds and lingcod, whitefish, etc.

During the week the action inside the bay was about the same.

Today, Saturday, we went to Santo Tomas reef with 5 passengers. Very good on the bottom again with limits on reds, and lingcod, and we also got one sheephead around 18 pounds. Some boats at the island got a few yellowtails and log sized barracudas.

The outer banks reported some good fishing around the 238 and 295 spots.
