ALBACORE FISHING OFF ENSENADA BY STEVE ROSS' BOAT

Feb. 17, 2005, Steve Ross, Bad Dog, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:

On Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, on my boat "Bad Dog" I went hunting to capture the FIRST ALBACORE OF THE YEAR FLAG for the San Diego Angler's Sport Fishing Club. Also on board were fellow club members, Louie Garcia and Errol Fitzpatrick. The first albacore was caught by Steve and weighed 5 pounds.

Louie and Errol caught 2 each, totaling 5 albacore for the day, all weighing approximately 5 pounds. These fish were all jig fish. Bad Dog was fishing near the 450 spot in rough, blue, 59.8 degree water. Also, a marlin, yes a marlin was totally exposed to them in the heavy seas. Bad Dog was the only vessel fishing in the Ensenada area.
