SOME ROOSTERFISH SHOWING UP EARLY THIS YEAR OFF EAST CAPE BEACHES

March 11-17, 2005, Axel Valdez, Buena Vista Beach Resort, East Cape fishing, Mexico:

Total East Cape fishing boats out: 24. Fishermen: 71. East Cape weather was in the mid-80's. Water Temperature: 68-72. Striped Marlin 10. Dorado 10. Roosterfish 8. Snapper 24. Jack Crevalle 2. Amberjack 1. Yellowtail 1. Cabrilla 4. Skip Jack 2. Sierra 4.

Our East Cape fishing water temperature continues to be about the same as last week, it seems that it has stopped warming up. It is good over all as it gives our water a lot of food sources.

We still had some winds this past week at East Cape, but spring is on us and so that the calm seas.

East Cape fishing has been all over. Early in the week everyone was going south and quite far about, 30 miles east from Frailes, but fishing was better up north by the El Cardonal area.

Marlin fishing was a little better this past week at East Cape, but not close to two weeks ago. Still our fleet continues to do well. Dorado fishing is getting there.

Inshore, lots of roosterfish are at East Cape, and this is early for them, but they are showing up and in good number with some good size ones.

Successful fishing lures are the same as last week, Petrolero and bleeding mackerel.
