EAST CAPE FISHERMEN GRUMBLING AS WINTER-LIKE
FISHING CONDITIONS ARRIVE EARLY THIS YEAR

Nov. 5, 2004, Chuck Meredith, East Cape fishing, Baja Sur, Mexico:

Found some dorado trolling hoochies up north to Ensenada de los Muertos and Punta Perico from here. Nothing big, average is 12 lbs, female. Funny thing, most of the rental pangas from Muertos Bay and the Punta Perico area were trolling south to Punta Pescadero looking. We passed by each other scratching our heads. East Cape water temperature was 78 degrees, and dropping rapidly. Still "victory at sea" conditions continue due to hard north winds. Looks like the "winter conditions" have started early this year. East Cape wind surfers are out enjoying it. Fishermen grumble.
