MAY WEATHER IS STILL COOLER THAN THE
NORM IN THE CABO VACATION FISHING AREA

May 22-28, 2005, Tommy Garcia, Cabo Magic, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

Fifty-seven CABO MAGIC Team boats report the following summary numbers for the specified period: 7 Striped Marlin, 1 Swordfish, 150 Yellowfin Tuna, 3 Wahoo, 3 Skipjack, 4 YellowTail, 3 Mako Shark, 9 Roosterfish, 4 Amberjack, 4 Jack Crevalle, 2 Red Snapper, 7 boats had no suerte.

The fishing weather and water conditions at Cabo San Lucas this week would be considered more typically "Feb-March" than "May" for our area. Winds early in the week kept temperatures cool and pleasant at that. Cooler than the norm water temperatures, however, continue to produce unusual catches including several Yellowtail and even a small Swordfish boated Saturday aboard CABO MARLIN II. The captain is not saying exactly where. He was keeping the mystery answer to himself and his mate. Although they claimed the swordie to be around 160 pounds, some captains commented in our office it appeared to be more in the 100-125 pound class. Sure was all the buzz around the Cabo San Lucas marina Saturday.
