GOOD WINTER PANGA FISHING FOR DORADO,
ROOSTERFISH, AND SIERRA OFF CABO'S OLD LIGHTHOUS

Feb. 22, 2005, Charles Whitesell, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

I fished out of Cabo San Lucas on the panga, Cheers, captained by Ramon last Sunday. The water temperature was 69 degrees, and a lot of marine life was observed, flying fish and whales. I caught two dorados (mahi-mahi) to 25 pounds, and 9 sierras the largest of which was 8 pounds. A roosterfish was released and estimated at 35 pounds. Fishing at Cabo San Lucas was in smooth seas, slightly overcast, and the air temperature was 80 degrees. We, including my son Steve from Park City, Utah, fished off the Old Lighthouse about a mile but caught the sierra and rooster in the wave line. A great day.
