SENOR DON FISHING TRIP ON CABO'S PACIFIC SIDE

Dec. 28, 2004, Rod Albright, Senor Don, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

Yesterday, Dec. 27 we went down from East Cape and fished in Cabo on Don Giottonini's boat Senor Don. We left the Cabo San Lucas harbor about 7 a.m. and headed to the Pacific side. It was overcast but the sea was nice, just some small rollers. We were fishing by 8:00 and caught our first striped marlin by 9:15. We had two fish come up on the lures and quickly put a live mackerel back and we were hooked up! We released the fish after a 20 minute fight and put the lines back out.

It wasn't long when we had another Cabo San Lucas fish in the pattern and we again dropped back a bait and I was hooked up. This fish did not want to come in and he fought me for almost a hour before being brought to the boat. It was one of the largest stripers I have caught in a long time. It must have weighed 180 lbs, maybe more.

Well we weren't done yet. More trolling and more fish. Twice we have 2 marlin on at a time, one did jump off the hook after 10 minutes, but we did manage to land a double.

In total we released 5 marlin while fishing at Cabo San Lucas, and took one for the table. We did have other chances too but we were unable to hook them. Not a BAD DAY if I say so myself.
