CABO SAN LUCAS SPORTFISHING RESULTS BY CORTEZ YACHT CHARTERS

Nov. 26, 2004, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Cabo San Lucas sportfishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

Cooler weather and full moon conditions seemed to hamper the Cabo San Lucas billfish bite, but the dorado and yellowfin tuna offered Cabo San Lucas anglers a bit of action through the week. Overall fish catches for 36 Cabo San Lucas fishing days reflected 1 small blue marlin, (taken aboard the "Gaviota V"), 9 stripers, (8 released), 3 wahoo, 2 skipjack tuna and 64 yellowfin tuna.

The "Fish Cabo", reporting for 5 Cabo San Lucas days, reflected 5 stripers released, 4 dorado & 4 yellowfin tuna and the "Juanita VIII", reporting for 7 fishing days reflected 5 stripers released, 14 dorado and 3 yellowfin tuna.

Cabo San Lucas Climate: Cool air temps, ranging from 60 at night to 82 daytime highs, considerable cloud cover.

Cabo San Lucas Sea Conditions: Temps are fairly stable at 77-78 throughout the area

Best Cabo San Lucas Fishing Area: The Pacific side continues to be productive, from the Golden Gate and south to Cabo Falso

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was a must for the billfish and dorado, (found mostly under the frigate birds). Tuna were running with the porpoise and darker colored feathers & cedar plugs seemed to work best.

Live Bait supply: Not reported.
