DORADO COUNTS HIGH AS CABO BOATS FISH THE
PACIFIC SIDE FINGER BANK AND GOLDEN GATE BANK

Nov. 4, 2004, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Cabo San Lucas dorado fishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

Cabo San Lucas dorado counts remain exceptionally high and it has been fairly easy limit fishing for most of the boats on the 15 lb. average sized dorado. Cabo San Lucas billfishing has lingered at an ebb for the past couple of weeks, with only a scattered fish being taken, here and there. Overall counts for the Gaviota Sportfishing Fleet for 56 fishing days reflected 7 stripers, (5 released) 1 sailfish released, 5 wahoo, 11 yellowfin tuna and 318 dorado.

Cabo San Lucas Climate: Sunny, warm & clear skies, temps from 66 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Cabo San Lucas Sea Conditions: Excellent! Temps are stable at 80-81 all over now, from above the Golden Gate to Frailes, with a distinct break above the Golden Gate and below the Finger Bank at 77 degrees.

Best Cabo San Lucas Fishing Area: Back to the Pacific side on the Golden Gate & Jaime Banks.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was very necessary for the billfish. Dorado were not fussy and bit most everything, including cut bait.

Live Bait Supply: Not reported.
