TROPICAL WEATHER DISTURBANCES TAKE A
TOLL ON FISH COUNTS DURING A BUSY WEEK

Sept. 4, 2004, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Cabo San Lucas fishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

A fairly busy week for the Cabo San Lucas fishing fleet at this time of year, but the full moon and effects from Hurricane Howard took it's toll on the fishing results. I talked with the fleet manager this morning and he told me that it was raining a little and that Cabo San Lucas was experiencing residual effects, including some windy conditions. Enough to make fishing difficult on rough seas, but as of yet, the Port remained open.

As for the Cabo San Lucas fishing report, the fleet reflected 39 fishing days that produced 17 dorado, 11 yellowfin tuna, 20 skipjacck tuna and 4 sailfish (released). This is the first report in many years that we have not reflected a single marlin caught from the fleet.

Cabo San Lucas Climate: Temps ranging from 75-97, hot, humid, cloudy, windy & rainy.

Cabo San Lucas Sea Conditions: Rough seas and windy conditions, temps from 85 to 87 degrees

Best Cabo San Lucas Fishing Area: Gordo Banks

Best Lure/Bait: All sails taken on live bait

Live Bait Supply: Not reported.

The Cabo San Lucas weather was cloudy, temps are 76-97, daytime highs, some rain and more expected, resulting from the offshoot of Hurricane Howard, (rapidly dissipating). Winds are out of the southeast at 10-25 knots. Water temps are holding at 85-86 degrees.
