GAVIOTA FLEET CATCHES FOR THE WEEK

July 3, 2004, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico Fishing:

The largest fish taken for the week at Cabo San Lucas was a 267 pound yellowfin tuna, captured by angler Dave Beckman, Placentia, CA, while fishing in the Big Brothers & Big Sisters Tournament, aboard the "Gaviota VIII". His partner and leader of the Team Sashimi, Richard Lee, landed another Cabo San Lucas tuna at 230 lbs., also aboard the "Gaviota VIII". The Randy Rubio group, also fishing aboard the "Gaviota VIII" later in the week, landed limits of dorado and 19 yellowfin tuna for a single fishing day. Matt Ticich, fishing aboard the "Gaviota IX", released 3 Cabo San Lucas stripers for 1 fishing day.

Overall, it was an excellent Cabo San Lucas fishing week that reflected 54 stripers, (49 releases) 1 sailfish released, 29 dorado, 90 yellowfin tuna and a single wahoo, for the Gaviota Fleet. "Fish Cabo", reporting for 3 fishing days released 6 stripers and captured 1 dorado, while the "Juanita VIII", fishing five days, released 9 stripers and captured 12 dorado.
