SEASONAL WINTER WINDS ARRIVING AT BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES

Oct. 30, 2004, Abraham Vazquez, Camp Gecko, Bahia de los Angeles, Baja fishing, Mexico Report:

The weather is rapidly changing. Winter is coming fast. Bahia de los Angeles has been windy out of the west for most of the week and we also had some north wind the last couple of days. We did not get any rain at all from the last couple of storm systems, just lots of wind.

Bahia de los Angeles water temperature is going down fast, 70 degrees now, and the yellowtail have started their migration south. There are still some to be found in the area, most of them in the 6-8 pound range, and there are still some on the surface. But the main problem has been the winds that have not made it easy to go out.

The road into Bahia de los Angeles is finished down to the yellow line in the middle. The gas station has pumps installed, but no word on when they will open it. Maybe New Year's? The Las Hamacas Restaurant has moved to a smaller location next to the old restaurant and seems to be doing good business again.

Whale sharks are still in the bay but with the water cooling down so fast they will be gone soon.
