DORADO HIT HARD AND IN HUGE NUMBERS IN FISHING
ABOUT 35 MILES EAST OF BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES

Aug. 1, 2004, Josh Schwartz, Bahia de las Animas, Baja California, Mexico fishing:

On the 30th we fished Barnaby Reef and Bahia de las Animas for decent size grouper and yellow tail.

On Saturday the 31st bait was difficult to get, but Igors determination paid off after a couple hours of searching.

Once the bait tank was full we headed out for an " All or Nothing " search for dorado. We headed east about 35 miles and found a good temp break, dropped a couple of jigs and started the troll. Shortly after, we had the first dorado of the season in the boat.

We dropped live bait and began to slow troll through the small patties, and then they hit hard and in huge numbers.

The water soon became full of color as we were surrounded by non-stop Dorado fishing for the next two hours (only two hours, because we decided to head home early ).

We had 4 at a time hook ups and had easy limits within a very short time (seemed like only minutes). We continued catch and release of 30+ Dorado and had at least that many spit the hook. The numbers were amazing and the excitement was like none other, they were everywhere.

The size range was between #10 and just over #20. Just a matter of Days until they are close to the bay. Igor is one of best I've fished with and makes it a awesome and fun experience. (Tommy (16), had his first ever Salt water experience - Truly an amazing experience.
